Vishay Intertechnology to Offer Product Demonstrations and Highlight Automotive Innovation at electronica 2010

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— Nov. 3, 2010— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced that at electronica 2010 in Munich, Germany, it will present demonstrations highlighting the advantages of its components in key applications. New 600 V, 47 A Vishay Siliconix N-Channel Power MOSFET Features Industry’s Best FOM of 15.12Ω-nC, and On-Resistance of 0.07Ωin TO-247 Package

(NYSE: VSH) today released a new 600 V, 47 A n-channel power MOSFET with ultra-low maximum on-resistance of 0.07Ω at a 10 V gate drive and an improved gate charge of 216 nC in the TO-247 package. TheSiHG47N60S’s 15.12Ω-nC gate charge times on-resistance, a key figure of merit (FOM) for MOSFETs used in power conversion applications, is the industry’s lowest for this device type.

The low on-resistance of theSiHG47N60Stranslates into lower conduction losses that save energy in inverter circuits and pulsewidth modulation (PWM) full-bridge topologies in solar and wind inverters, and telecom, server, and motor control power applications.

The newSiHG47N60Sis produced using Vishay Super Junction technology, which has been tailored to minimize on-state resistance and withstand high energy pulse in the avalanche and commutation mode. The MOSFET is compliant to RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC and 100% avalanche tested for reliable operation.

Vishay Releases New Series of Screw-Terminal Power Aluminum Capacitors in Nine Case Sizes Ranging From 50 mm by 80 mm to 90 mm by 220 mm

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— Dec. 1, 2010— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced a new series of screw-terminal power aluminum capacitors with efficient, high capacitance/voltage combinations from 1,000µF at 450 V to 15,000 µF at 400 V in nine case sizes ranging from 50 mm by 80 mm to 90 mm by 220 mm.

Featuring a cylindrical aluminum case insulated with a blue sleeve and pressure relief in their sealing disc, the new 500 PGP-ST capacitors offer a high rated ripple current to 24.1A at + 85°C, and a useful life of 2,000 hours at + 85°C.

The devices are available with 8-mm terminals on the standard high-post M5 disc, or 13-mm terminals featuring the high-current M6 disc. The capacitors are compliant to RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC.

As polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitors with a non-solid electrolyte, the500PGP-STdevices are ideally suited for power applications and pulsed power applications, which demand high energy storage in a small form factor. Vishay Intertechnology Offers Complete Family of IR Receivers Optimized for Extremely Noisy Environments and Short Burst Codes: the AGC5

MALVERN, Pa.— Nov. 29, 2010— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced that the company’s optoelectronics portfolio now includes a complete family of miniaturized automatic gain control category 5 (AGC5) IR receivers for remote control systems. Vishay’s AGC5 devices are suitable for codes with short bursts and offer excellent noise suppression, resulting in the best receiving distance under noise.

Vishay’s AGC5 devices are immune to dimmed LCD backlighting, noise from plasma screens, and any fluorescent lamps, leading sources of environmental optical noise severely impacting the performance of IR systems. With an improved immunity against ambient light and insensitivity to supply voltage ripple and noise, the IR receivers are optimized for remote control applications in industrial and consumer applications, including set-top boxes, LCD TVs, and DVD players, where a robust transmission range and a clean signal in the presence of optical noise are extremely important.

Each receiver includes a photo detector and preamplifier circuit, mounted within an epoxy-encapsulated module that acts as an IR filter. The AGC5 receivers are specified for operation from 2.5 V to 5.5 V with a minimum irradiance of 0.1 to 0.15 mW/m2, depending on the package. This translates to a transmission range of 45 meters in dark ambients for most standard remote controls. The modules feature a carrier frequency range from 30 kHz to 56 kHz, offer a low 0.35 mA supply current, and comply with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.

Vishay Intertechnology Releases New DSCC-Approved, MIL-PRF-32159-Qualified, Zero-Ohm Jumper

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— Nov. 22, 2010— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (VSH: NYSE) today released a new DSCC-approved, zero-ohm chip resistor that is fully qualified to MIL-PRF-32159, type RCZ. For military, avionics, space, and medical applications, as well as those in harsh environments, theRCWPMJumper provides established reliability with a military-grade failure rate.

TheRCWPMJumper is offered in all 13 case sizes of the MIL-PRF-32159 specification, and provides extremely low maximum resistance values down to 20 mΩ. The jumper offers designers a wide range of power ratings from 0.035W to 1.0W, and current ratings from 1.1A to 6.3A.

Featuring a stable thick film resistive element and a 96 % alumina substrate, theRCWPMJumper offers“B” style terminations with a tin/lead wraparound over nickel barrier. The device’s electroplated nickel barrier layer enables high-temperatures operation to +150°C.

The jumper is 100% Group A screened per MIL-PRF-32159, and is halogen-free according to the IEC 61249-2-21 definition.

Vishay’s New Power Metal Strip® Resistors in 3921 and 5931 Case Sizes Feature High Power Ratings From 5 W to 10 W and Extremely Low Resistance Values Down to 0.0003Ω

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— Nov. 15, 2010— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced two new surface-mount Power Metal Strip® resistors in the 3921 and 5931 case sizes that combine high power ratings from 5 W to 10 W with extremely low resistance values down to 0.0003Ω.

The advanced construction of theWSLP3921andWSLP5931resistors incorporates a solid metal nickel-chrome or manganese-copper alloy resistive element with low TCR (< 20 PPM/°C) and specially selected and stabilized material. This results in a high-power resistor with an operating temperature range of− 65°C to + 170 °C, while maintaining the superior electrical characteristics of the Power Metal Strip construction.

The new devices allow for the design of high-power circuits featuring the smallest possible resistor for higher-performance end products. Furthermore, the resistors’ high-temperature capability allows the use of theWSLP3921andWSLP5931in harsh, high-temperature environments without sacrificing power rating or electrical performance.

The resistors are ideal for all types of current sensing, voltage division, and pulse applications, including switching and linear power supplies, instruments, and power amplifiers in automotive electronic controls such as engine, anti-lock brakes, and climate controls; industrial controls, including down-hole test/measurement equipment for oil/gas well drilling; and inverter controls for HVAC systems.

TheWSLP3921resistor measures 0.394 in. by 0.205 in. {10.0 mm by 5.2 mm} with a maximum height profile of 0.020 in. {0.5 mm}, while theWSLP5931measures 0.591 in. by 0.305 in. {15.0 mm by 7.75 mm} with a height profile of 0.020 in. {0.5 mm}. A proprietary processing technique produces extremely low resistance values ranging from 0.0003Ω to 0.004Ω, with tight tolerances of 1.0 % and 5.0 %.

Like all Power Metal Strip resistors, the devices released today feature an all-welded construction that contributes to their superior electrical performance. TheWSLP3921andWSLP5931provide very low inductance of 0.5ηH to 5ηH and low thermal EMF (<3µV/°C).

Vishay Siliconix Releases Industry’s First Asymmetric Dual TrenchFET® Power MOSFET in PowerPAIR® 6 mm by 3.7 mm Package Featuring TrenchFET Gen III Technology

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— Nov. 11, 2010— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced the first asymmetric dual TrenchFET® power MOSFET in the PowerPAIR® 6 mm by 3.7 mm package to utilize TrenchFET Gen III technology, reducing on-resistance by 43% when compared to previous-generation devices, while offering higher maximum current and enabling increased efficiency.Offering the industry’s lowest on-resistance for this device type, theSiZ710DTcombines a low- and high-side MOSFET in one compact device, saving space over using two discrete solutions in dc-to-dc converters.

Vishay is demonstrating the superior performance and space savings of the PowerPAIR package in a synchronous buck circuit at its electronica 2010 stand A5-143.

Before the PowerPAIR package type, designers would have to use two single devices to achieve the low on-resistance and high maximum current required for system power, POL, low-current DC/DC, and synchronous buck applications in notebooks, VRMs, power modules, graphic cards, servers, and gaming consoles. TheSiZ710DT’s specifications allow designers to use one device that is one third smaller than two discrete PowerPAK 1212-8 devices, or two thirds smaller than two discrete SO-8 devices, saving solution cost and space, including the PCB clearance and labeling area in between the two discrete MOSFETs. In addition, replacing SO-8 devices in lower-current and lower-voltage applications can increase efficiency.

A single PowerPAK 1212-8 or SO-8 has on-resistance down to the 5 mΩ or 4 mΩ range, respectively. However, the low-side Channel 2 MOSFET of theSiZ710DTutilizes the optimized space from the asymmetric structure and offers a lower on-resistance of 3.3 mΩ at 10 V and 4.3 mΩ at 4.5V, and a maximum current of 30 A at + 25°C and 24 A at + 70°C. In addition, the high-side Channel 1 MOSFET features an improved on-resistance of 6.8 mΩ at 10 V and 9.0 mΩ at 4.5V.

By having the two MOSFETs already connected inside the PowerPAIR package, layouts are made easier and parasitic inductance from PCB traces are reduced, increasing efficiency. In addition, theSiZ710DT’s pinning is arranged so that the input is on one side and the output is on the other, further simplifying the layout and saving PCB space.

The device is 100% Rg and UIS tested, compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC, and halogen-free according to IEC 61249-2-21.

Vishay Extends IHLP® Family of Low-Profile, High-Current Inductors with New Device in the 6767 Case Size

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— November 17, 2010— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today launched a new IHLP® low-profile, high-current inductor in the 6767 case size. Featuring an ultra-low 4.0 mm profile, theIHLP-6767DZ-11offers high efficiency with maximum DCR down to 2.05 mΩ and a wide range of standard inductance values from 1.0µH through 47.0 µH.

With a frequency range up to 750 kHz, the newIHLP-6767DZ-11serves as a high-performing, space- and power-saving solution for voltage regulator module (VRM) and dc-to-dc applications in end products including next-generation mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers, servers, graphic cards, personal navigation systems, personal multimedia devices, and automotive systems; low-profile, high-current power supplies and point of load (POL) converters; distributed power systems; and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).

Vishay Intertechnology Releases New Series of Micro-Chip NTC Thermistors With Small 1.6-mm Body Sensing Diameter, Fast Response Time Down to≤0.7 s, and Temperature Accuracy of± 0.5 °C from + 25 °C to + 85 °C

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— Aug. 30, 2010— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the release of a new series of micro-chip negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors with a very small maximum body sensing diameters of 1.6 mm, and fast response times of≤ 3 s in air and

≤ 0.7 s in oil. The NTCLE305E4xxxSB devices provide precise measurements over a wide temperature range, with accuracy of± 0.5 °C from

+ 25°C to + 85 °C and ± 1.0 °C between− 40°C and + 125 °C.

The three thermistors released today offer designers a choice of electrical resistance values at + 25°C (R25) to meet the self heating, voltage output, or noise suppression needs of their applications. TheNTCLE305E4202SB,NTCLE305E4502SB, andNTCLE305E4103SBfeature R25of 2060Ω, 5,000Ω, and 10,000Ω, respectively, with other values available on request.

AEC-Q200 qualified with exceptionally high thermal shock resistance up to 2000 cycles, the thermistors are intended for temperature sensing circuits in automotive temperature probes and control units, and industrial boilers, battery packs, and fire detectors.

The NTCLE305E4xxxSB devices consist of a micro NTC chip with two insulated solid silver-plated nickel wires that are coated with an ochre-colored epoxy lacquer. The thermistors’ flexible leads allow for easy mounting and assembly. The devices are compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC, in accordance to WEEE 2002/96/EC, and fulfill ELV 2000/53/EC.

Vishay’s New Automotive-Qualified PIN Photodiodes and NPN Planar Phototransistors Offer Spectral Bandwidth From 350 nm to 1120 nm or 470 nm to 1090 nm in 1.8-mm Gullwing and Reverse Gullwing Packages

MALVERN, Pa.— July 16, 2010— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has broadened its optoelectronics portfolio with the introduction of the new AEC-Q101-qualified VEMD25x0X01 high-speed silicon PIN photodiodes and VEMT25x0X01 NPN planar phototransistors. Available in 1.8-mm gullwing and reverse gullwing surface-mount packages, the photo detectors are sensitive to visible and near infrared radiation and offer a compact footprint of 2.3 mm by 2.3 mm by 2.8 mm.

The devices released today are optimized for light curtains, miniature switches, encoders, and photo-interrupters in metering, automotive, and printer applications; and detectors for visible and infrared emitter sources in proximity applications.

The photodiodes offer a 12-µA light current and spectral sensitivity range of 350 nm to 1120 nm, while the phototransistors offer a light current of 6 mA and spectral sensitivity range of 470 nm to 1090 nm. The VEMD25x0X01 and VEMT25x0X01 devices feature a 1-nA darkcurrent, ± 15° angle of half sensitivity, temperature range of - 40 °C to + 100 °C, and have a matching IR emitter in the high-intensity, high-speed VSMB20x0X01.

While most photo detectors only feature a moisture sensitivity level (MSL) of 3 and must be mounted within 72 hours of being unsealed or removed from protective packing, the VEMD25x0X01 and VEMT25x0X01 devices can remain on the plant floor for up to four weeks, thanks to their MSL of 2a, per J-STD-020. The photo detectors support lead (Pb)-free processing in accordance with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC, are halogen- free according to the IEC 61249-2-21 definition, and are compatible with lead (Pb)-free reflow solder assembly.
