(NYSE: VSH) today announced that it has won a 2010 EDN China Innovation Best Product Award in the Passive Components and Sensor category for its Tantamount® Hi-Rel COTST97and commercial, industrial-grade597Dseries of solid tantalum chip capacitors. Recently enhanced with an industry-high 75 V rating and capacitance of 10µF in the“R” case size, the devices provide high reliability in circuits with applied voltages between 25 V to 40 V, a performance level that has previously been available only with through-hole technology

The597Dcapacitors are optimized for industrial automation and control systems, while theT97devices are designed for safety-critical applications such as those found in the military and aerospace industries, including dc-to-dc converters and power distribution in weapons and radar systems, avionics, and space-based electronics.
