146 CTI SMD Chip Polarized Aluminum Capacitor—For automotive applications, the AEC-Q200-qualifed 146 CTI capacitor combines high-temperature performance to +125°C, very low ESR down to 0.035Ω, and a long useful life to 6,000 hours at +125°C. The device is offered in eight case sizes ranging from 10 mm by 10 mm to 18 mm by 21 mm.

SiR662DP 60 V N-Channel Power MOSFET—The SiR662DP offers the industry’s lowest on-resistance and on-resistance times gate charge FOM for 60 V devices in the PowerPAK® SO-8 type package. The device’s 3.5 mΩ on resistance at 4.5 V is 27 % lower than the closest competing device, while its FOM of 105 mΩ-nC at 4.5 V is 57 % lower.

IHLP®-6767GZ-51 Power Inductor—The IHLP-6767GZ-51 offers the highest combination of temperature range (to + 155°C) and current ratings of any surface-mount power inductor on the market. The device features a frequency range up to 750 kHz, typical DCR down to 0.89 mΩ, and inductance down to 0.47µH.

45 V TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky Rectifiers—Vishay’s 45 V TMBS rectifiers are available in a very low-profile package with a typical height of 1.1 mm, in addition to P600 axial and power TO-220AB, ITO-220AB, TO-262AA, and TO263AB packages. The devices combine low forward voltage drop down to 0.39 V at 15 A and + 125°C with a high + 150 °C maximum operating junction temperature.

ACAS AT Thin Film Chip Resistor Arrays—Vishay’s AEC-Q200-qualified ACAS AT resistor arrays offer precision matched resistors in one package for voltage divider and feedback circuits. The devices provide a high power rating (P70) of 125 mW per resistor, super moisture resistivity of< 0.5 % (85°C; 85 % RH; 56 days), and TCR tracking down to down to 10 ppm/K (± 5 ppm/K).

VCNL4000 Fully Integrated Proximity/Ambient Light Sensor—The VCNL4000 is the industry’s first proximity and ambient light optical sensor to combine an IR emitter, photo-pin-diode, ambient light detector, signal processing IC, and a 16-bit ADC in one small 3.95 mm x 3.95 mm x 0.75 mm leadless (LLP), surface-mount package. The space-saving device supports an easy-to-use I2C bus communication interface and greatly simplifies designs in a wide variety of consumer and industrial applications.

NTC Mini Lug Sensor—Vishay’s Mini Lug NTC sensors feature the industry’s smallest mounting space of 65 mm2/ 0.1 in2, and short response time of< 4 s to provide fast and accurate measurements over a wide temperature range from− 40°C to + 125 °C.

DG9454 Triple SPDT (2:1 Multiplexer)—Optimized for 3D shutter glasses, the DG9454 guarantees 1.8 V logic compatibility over an operational voltage range from 2.7 V to 12 V at V+ and 2.5 V to + 5.5 at VL, and features low power consumption down to< 1µA to greatly enhance battery life.

TP3 TANTAMOUNT® Molded Case SMD Capacitor—The automotive-grade TP3 features a robust construction and low ESR for engine controls and safety systems. 100 % surge current tested, the capacitor is available in the industry-standard A to E case sizes, and the new W case size for capacitance and voltage range expansion.

600 V FRED Pt Ultrafast Diodes—For DCM, CRM, and CCM PFC applications, Vishay’s 600 V ultrafast diodes are offered in a variety of power packages and offer an operating junction temperature of + 175°C for a more robust and cost-effective design. The devices feature extremely low leakage current, forward voltage ratings, and Qrr and Trr. The new“U” series has been specifically designed for ultrafast soft recovery time.

WSLP, WSLT, WSLS, and WSH Power Metal Strip® Resistors—Vishay’s Power Metal Strip resistors offer enhanced power-handling and environmental performance for current sensing and pulse applications. The WSLT resistor features high-temperature performance to + 275°C. The WSLP and WSH offer very high power to 1 W in the 1206 case size and 5 W in the 2818 case size, respectively. The WSLS offers improved stability of 0.25 % and 0.5 %.

SiZ730DT Asymmetric Dual Power MOSFET—Saving space and increasing performance, the SiZ730DT combines high- and low-side MOSFETs in one compact 6 mm by 3.7 mm PowerPAIR package, which is one third smaller than two discrete PowerPAK 1212-8 packages and two thirds smaller than two discrete SO-8 packages. In addition, the device’s asymmetric design provides a 30 % lower on-resistance than using a PowerPAK 1212-8 for the low-side MOSFET.

Vishay Intertechnology Announces New W Case Size for High-Capacitance, High-Voltage, Low-ESR TR3 Molded Tantalum Chip Capacitor

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— May 2, 2011—Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the addition of the new W case (EIA 7361) for its popular low-ESRTR3high-capacitance, high-voltage molded tantalum chip capacitor. Measuring 7.3 mm by 6.0 mm, with a height of 3.45 mm, the new case size allows for capacitance and voltage range expansion beyond the existing A through E case sizes.

Following Vishay’s recent release of 63 V and 75 V tantalum capacitors, the introduction of the low-ESRTR3W case version underscores the company’s commitment to offering best-in-class ratings featuring robust designs with maximum voltage and the highest capacitance available in the industry. New Vishay Siliconix 40 A DrMOS Solution Enables Operating Frequencies in Excess of 1 MHz and Better Than 93 % Efficiency, Compatible With 3.3 V and 5 V PWM Logic Levels

MALVERN, Pa.— May 9, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced an integrated DrMOS solution providing PWM-optimized high-side and low-side n-channel MOSFETs, a full-featured MOSFET driver IC, and a bootstrap diode, all in a single low-profile, thermally enhanced PowerPAK® MLP 6x6 40-pin package. The newSiC779CDis fully compliant with the DrMOS 4.0 specification for voltage regulators (VRs) in servers and desktop computers, graphics boards, workstations, game consoles, and other high-power CPU-based systems. The device enables operating frequencies in excess of 1 MHz and high efficiency of greater than 93 %.

TheSiC779CD’s advanced gate driver IC accepts a single PWM input from the VR controller and converts it into the high- and low-side MOSFET gate drive signals. The device’s 5 V PWM input is compatible with all controllers and especially designed to support controllers with a tri-state PWM output function.

The regulator operates from an input voltage range of 3 V to 16 V and delivers up to 40 A of continuous output current. Its integrated power MOSFETs are optimized for output voltages in the range of 0.8 V to 2.0 V, with a nominal input voltage of 12 V. TheSiC779CDcan also deliver very high power at a 5 V output for ASIC applications.

The device’s driver IC incorporates circuitry to automatically detect light-load conditions and can automatically enable skip mode operation (SMOD) in systems that are designed to benefit from high light-load efficiency. An adaptive dead time control helps to further improve efficiency at all load points. Protection features include UVLO, shoot-through protection, and a thermal warning feature that alerts the system in case of an excessive junction temperature.

Integration of the driver IC and power MOSFETs in theSiC779CDreduces power losses and lessens the effect of parasitic impedances associated with high-frequency discrete power stage implementations. Designers can opt for high-frequency switching to improve transient response, save on costs for output filter components, and achieve the highest power density possible in multiphase Vcore applications.

The device is halogen-free according to the IEC 61249-2-21 definition, and compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC.

Offering 13 standard resistance values over a wide resistance range of 49.9Ω to 500 kΩ, the enhanced devices now offer designers a choice of higher and lower values in the same standard narrow-body SOIC gull wing package.

Offering higher precision than discrete chips, devices in theORNseries combine four isolated resistors in a 3.99 mm by 4.93 mm, eight-pin, surface-mount network. The devices offer a close ratio tolerance to± 0.01 %, ratio stability characteristics (ΔR) of± 0.015 % at 2,000 hours and + 70 °C, and tight TCR tracking of ± 5 PPM/°C.

Vishay Intertechnology Releases New IFSC Family of Low-Profile, High-Current Inductors in 0806, 1008, 1111, and 1515 Case Sizes

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— April 20, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today launched a new family of low-profile, high-current inductors in the 0806, 1008, 1111, and 1515 case sizes. The IFSC devices combine ultra-low profiles down to 1.0 mm with a high maximum frequency and a wide range of standard inductance values from 0.47µH to 47.0 µH.

With a frequency range up to 5.0 MHz, the five IFSC inductors announced today serve as high-performing, space- and power-saving solutions for DC/DC converter applications in end products including LCD displays, hard disk drives, digital video cameras, smart phones, tablets, and PDAs; low-profile, high-current power supplies; and point of load (POL) converters.

The devices offer an inductance range from 0.47µH to 47.0 µH, a saturation current range from 0.235 A up to 5.5 A, typical DCR from 17 mΩ to 2367 mΩ, and maximum DCR from 22 mΩ to 2840 mΩ.

The new inductors are RoHS-compliant and 100 % lead (Pb)-free. These shielded devices are specified for an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.

Vishay’s New Series of Low-Profile, Surface-Mount Standard, Fast, and Ultrafast Avalanche Rectifiers Feature 20 mJ EAS Avalanche Capability and Industry-High Forward Currents to 4 A in Miniature SMP and SMPC Packages

MALVERN, Pa.— April 18, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced nine new series of low-profile, surface-mount standard, fast, and ultrafast avalanche rectifiers with 20 mJ EAS avalanche capability and industry-high forward currents up to 4 A in compact, space-saving SMP and SMPC packages.

The AS1Px standard, AR1Px fast, and AU1Px ultrafast rectifiers released today in SMP packages offer a low profile of 1.0 mm. Featuring a profile of 1.1, devices in SMPC packages include the AS3Px and AS4Px standard, AR3Px and AR4Px fast, and AU2Px and AU3Px ultrafast rectifiers. The devices save space in secondary rectifiers and freewheeling diodes for very fast switching of AC/DC and DC/DC converters in high-temperature conditions for consumer, lighting, and automotive applications.

Providing high current density, the AEC-Q101-qualified devices combine their compact packages with high average forward currents. In the SMPC package, the AS4Px and AR4Px are the industry’s first standard and fast devices to offer a 4 A forward current, while the AU3Px is the industry’s first ultra-fast 3 A device. The AS3Px and AR3Px also feature forward currents up to 3 A, while the AU2Px offers currents up to 2 A. Currents in the SMP package range from 1.0 A for the AR1Px and AU1Px to 1.5 A for the AS1Px.

All nine series offer designers a choice of 200 V, 400 V, 600 V, 800 V, or 1,000 V reverse voltage ratings. The rectifiers feature low forward voltage drop, reverse recovery times as low as 75 ns, leakage current down to 0.3µA, and very low junction-to-mount thermal resistance of 5 oC/W for the SMPC rectifiers and 15 oC/W for the SMP rectifiers. The devices offer a glass passivated chip junction and are ideal for automated placement.

The new rectifiers feature a rugged maximum operation junction temperature of + 175°C and an MSL moisture sensitivity level of 1, per J-STD-020. The devices are compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC, and are halogen-free according to IEC 61249-2-21.

Vishay Intertechnology Releases New 15 A and 25 A Single-Phase Single In-Line Bridge Rectifiers With Low Forward Voltage Drop Down to 0.73 V for Improved Power Efficiency

MALVERN, Pa.— April 11, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today released two new single-phase single in-line bridge rectifiers in the GSIB-5S package with improved VF over previous-generation devices− down to 0.73 V at + 125°C− and high forward surge current capability.

TheLVB1560offers a current rating of 15 A and low forward voltage drop down to 0.73 V at 7.5 A, while theLVB2560features a current rating of 25 A and forward voltage down to 0.76 V at 12.5 A. The devices’ low VFreduces power loss for increased power efficiency and energy savings.

The bridge rectifiers released today feature maximum peak reverse voltage ratings of 600 V. Offering an oxide planar chip structure, the devices provide high case dielectric strength of 2,500 VRMS.

TheLVB1560andLVB2560are the ideal choice for primary side ac-to-dc full-wave rectification in switchmode power supplies for high-efficiency desktop PCs, servers, telecommunication systems, home appliances, and white goods applications.

The rectifiers’ + 275 oC, 10 second solder dipping process per JESD 22-B106 enables high reliability in wave soldering or manual soldering. The devices are compliant to RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC, and are halogen-free according to the IEC 61249-2-21 definition.

Vishay Intertechnology Releases Three New Single and Dual 2 A, Slew-Rate-Controlled Load Switches in the Compact TDFN4, SC70-6, and TDFN8 Packages

MALVERN, Pa.— April 14, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today released three new single and dual 2 A load switches designed for 1.1 V to 5.5 V operation. Offering low switch on-resistance at 1.2 V for increased efficiency, theSiP32411,SiP32413, andSiP32414feature a controlled soft turn-on slew rate of 150µs typical that limits the inrush current, providing a controlled smoother turn-on transition that minimizes switching noise.

TheSiP32411is a single switch available in both the 1.2 mm by 1.6 mm TDFN4 package and the SC70-6 package, while theSiP32413andSiP32414are dual switches available in the 2 mm x 2 mm TDFN8 package. The load switches released today guarantee low switch on-resistance of 66 mΩ at 1.2 V input (105 mΩ for theSiP32411in the SC70-6 package), with each switch supporting over 2 A of continuous current.

The space-savingSiP32411,SiP32413, andSiP32414feature a low-voltage control logic interface that eliminates the need for extra level shifting circuitry. The devices offer a low quiescent current of< 1µA when disabled and 6.7 µA at 1.2 V, allowing for longer on-times in battery-powered equipment. When disabled, the switches provide reverse blocking to prevent high current from flowing into the power source. TheSiP32411andSiP32414integrate output discharge switches that enable rapid turn-off of a load circuit when the switch is disabled.

The two load switches in theSiP32413feature reverse control logic. The device can easily be configured as a two-to-one power source, routing two power rails of different potentials to the common load point. TheSiP32414consists of two load switches of the same logic, and is ideal for loads with dual power rails.

TheSiP32411,SiP32413, andSiP32414will be used in USB, SIM, SDIO, POL, RF, and Wi-Fi module load applications in wireless modems and portable devices including, netbooks and notebook computers, cell phones, GPS products, digital cameras, and eBooks. The devices are compliant to RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC and halogen-free according to the IEC 61249-2-21 definition.

Vishay Intertechnology’s New Series of HI TMP® TANTAMOUNT® Surface-Mount Solid Tantalum Chip Capacitors is Industry’s First to Feature 10µF Capacitance at 12 V or 21 V and 500 Hours of Continuous Operation at + 200 °C

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— April 7, 2011—Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced a new series of HI TMP® TANTAMOUNT® surface-mount solid tantalum chip capacitors that are the industry’s first such devices to offer a capacitance value of 10µF at 12 V or 21 V and 500 hours of continuous operation at +200°C, without the need for voltage derating. The closest competing device offers a maximum operating voltage of only 5 V.

By providing much higher temperature capabilities than the industry standard +150°C or +175°C, theTH5provides designers with a price competitive and reliable option for very high-temperature applications. The capacitors are optimized for oil exploration and drilling sensing systems; industrial applications related to the control of high-temperature materials; safety-critical industrial tools and products; and automotive applications.

TheTH5series is offered in a molded package in the 7.3 mm by 4.3 mm E case size (EIA 7343-43) with a 4 mm profile. The devices offer an operating temperature range of - 55°C to + 200 °C, and capacitance tolerances of ± 10 % and ± 20 %.

100 % surge current tested, the capacitors feature gold-plated terminations. The RoHS-compliant devices are suitable for high-volume automatic and manual pick-and-place equipment, and are capable of withstanding lead (Pb)-free soldering reflow conditions.

Vishay’s New Infrared Emitters Built on Surface Emitter Technology Boost Radiant Intensity in 850 nm Devices Up to 100 mW/sr, with Optical Power Up to 55 mW

MALVERN, Pa.— April 6, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced a family of infrared emitters built on a surface emitter technology that enables the highest radiant intensity for this device type available on the market.

The surface emitter technology used in the new devices represents a unique die construction in which all the light generated inside the semiconductor is emitted through the top surface of the chip. The result is a 2.5X improvement in radiant intensity for the new family compared to devices in the same package types using conventional chip technologies.

By offering higher optical power in the same space, the new devices will allow designers to reduce component count and/or improve the performance of a host of applications using infrared emitters, which include 3DTV active glasses synchronization, infrared touch panels, CCTV security cameras, 3D imaging for gaming and surveillance, CMOS cameras and flashes, proximity sensors, light curtains, and data transmission.

The four surface-mount devices released today are offered in 0805 (VSMY1850), gull-wing dome lens (VSMY2850G), reverse gull-wing dome lens (VSMY2850RG), and PLCC-2 (VSMY3850) packages. Vishay Releases Industry’s First IHLP® Low-Profile, High-Current Inductor in 3232 Case Size With 4.0 mm Profile

Featuring an 8.3 mm by 8.8 mm footprint and ultra-low 4.0 mm profile, theIHLP-3232DZ-11offers high efficiency with maximum DCR down to 1.35 mΩ and a wide range of standard inductance values from 0.22µH through 47.0 µH.

New 40 V and 60 V Vishay Siliconix N-Channel TrenchFET® Power MOSFETs Feature Industry-Low On-Resistance and FOMs in PowerPAK SO-8 Package

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— March 31, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced new 40 V and 60 V n-channel TrenchFET® power MOSFETs with the industry’s lowest on-resistance and on-resistance times gate charge figures of merit for devices with these voltage ratings in the SO-8 or PowerPAK® SO-8 packages.

The 60 VSiR662DPoffers on-resistance of 2.7 mΩ at 10 V and 3.5 mΩ at 4.5 V, and an FOM of 172.8 mΩ-nC at 10 V and 105 mΩ-nC at 4.5 V. The device’s on-resistance values at 10 V and 4.5 V are 3.5 % lower and 27 % lower than those of the closest competing MOSFET, respectively, while its FOM is 23 % lower at 10 V and 57 % lower at 4.5 V. These low values will reduce switching losses across the whole operating range of the device.

The 40 VSiR640DPoffers on-resistance of 1.7 mΩ at 10 V and 2.2 mΩ at 4.5 V, and an FOM of 128 mΩ-nC at 10 V and 76 mΩ-nC at 4.5 V. The device’s on-resistance value at 4.5 V is 4 % lower than the next best competing MOSFET, while its FOM is 15.5 % lower at 4.5 V.

Both devices are built on a new silicon technology utilizing an optimized trench density and a unique gate structure. For designers, their lower on-resistance translates into lower conduction losses for reduced power consumption, especially at heavy loads. Their low FOMs reduce switching losses in high-frequency and switching applications, particularly at light loads and stand-by mode. The devices’ high efficiency allows designers to increase the power density of their systems and/or provide lower power loss, greener solutions.

TheSiR662DPandSiR640DPare intended for secondary side synchronous rectification in DC/DC and AC/DC converters, primary side switching in DC/DC converters, point-of-load modules, motor drives, bridge inverters, and mechanical relay replacement applications. Typical end products will include telecom power supplies, industrial automation and professional gaming systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and consumer applications.

The MOSFETs’ 4.5 V rating will give many designers the opportunity to use a 5 V power rail in their systems, already present for powering digital logic, without having to create and find space for a 10 V power rail. The 4.5 V rating will also significantly lower gate drive losses while allowing lower-voltage/lower-cost 5 V PWM ICs to be utilized.

Both devices are 100 % Rg and UIS tested. They are halogen-free according to the IEC 61249-2-21 definition and compliant to RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC.

Vishay Intertechnology’s New PLTT Precision Low-TCR, High-Temperature Thin Film Resistor Offers TCR of± 5 ppm/°C, Tolerance to ± 0.02 %, and Wide Operating Temperature Range to + 215 °C

(VSH: NYSE) today introduced a new precision low-TCR thin film resistor offering a wide operating temperature range of - 55°C to + 215 °C. Providing nearly a 100 °C extension in operating temperature range over traditional thin film chip resistors, thePLTTfeatures a low standard TCR of± 5 ppm/°C and tolerances down to ± 0.02 %.

With stable film and performance characteristics of 500 ppm at + 215°C for 2000 hours, the resistor released today is optimized for the low-noise, single-signal processing required to compensate for low offset and temperature drift in high-temperature environments, including down-hole applications, high-precision oil and gas exploration, and telecommunications and industrial equipment.

Vishay Intertechnology Releases Industry’s First Green, RoHS-Compliant (Without Any Exemptions) Thick Film Rectangular Chip Resistor in 0603, 0805, and 1206 Case Sizes

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— March 24, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (VSH: NYSE) today introduced the industry’s first green, RoHS-compliant (without any exemptions) thick film rectangular chip resistor. Offering a completely lead (Pb)-free resistor body with pure tin solder contacts and a metal glaze on a high-quality ceramic, theRCG e3is AEC-Q200 qualified and provides stability of 1 % for 1,000 hours at + 70 °C in three case sizes.

Currently, Exemption #5 in the RoHS compliance procedure allows for lead (Pb) in the resistor body. However, to provide an environmental protection level above the current RoHS requirements, designers need to utilize green, RoHS-compliant products without any exemption. TheRCG e3allows designers to meet the tough demand for completely lead (Pb)-free thick film resistors in consumer, computer, automotive, industrial, and telecom equipment.

Available in the 0603, 0805, and 1206 case sizes, theRCG e3offers TCR of± 100 ppm/K and± 200 ppm/K, a resistance range from 1Ω to 10 MΩ and 0Ω jumper, and resistance tolerance of± 1 % and ± 5 %. The device features rated power dissipation from 0.100 W to 0.250 W and an operating voltage range of 75V to 200V.

New Vishay Siliconix 12 V Triple SPDT Switch For 3D Shutter Glasses Features 1.8 V Logic Compatibility and Low Power Consumption Down to< 1 µA in Ultra-Compact miniQFN-16 Package

TheDG9454guarantees 1.8 V logic compatibility over an operational voltage range from 2.7 V to 13.2 V at V+ and 2.5 V to + 5.5 at VL, and features low power consumption down to< 1µA to greatly enhance battery life. Available in the ultra-compact 1.8 mm x 2.6 mm miniQFN-16 package, the device enables smaller and lighter 3D goggles for end users.

The new generation of 3D shutter glasses will continue to incorporate lower MCU voltage designs. The newDG9454is ready to meet this demand by guaranteeing<1.8V logic compatibility while maintaining low power consumption. By providing consumption of< 1µA at V+ and 3 µA to 5 µA at VL without the need for an extra logic translation circuit, the device reduces the component count, lowering costs and providing further space savings.

TheDG9454offers high bandwidth to 540 MHz, low charge injection over the full signal range of< 0.9 pQ, low switch capacitance of 2 pF typical, and isolation and crosstalk performance of - 65 dB at 10 MHz and< - 90 dB at 100 KHz. These specifications make the device a high-performance switch for data acquisition applications, as well as healthcare and control and automation equipment.

Processed with advanced CMOS technology, theDG9454conducts equally well in both directions, and offers rail to rail analog signal handling. The device offers an operating temperature from - 40°C to + 125 °C.

Vishay’s New T86 Series of Surface-Mount Hi-Rel COTS TANTAMOUNT® Solid Tantalum Chip Capacitors Features Weibull Grading, Low-ESR Option Down to 0.25Ω, and Built-In Fuses in Three Molded Case Sizes

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— March 17, 2011—Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced a new surface-mount Hi-Rel COTS series of solid tantalum chip capacitors that combines Weibull grading and surge-current test options per MIL{#x1E}PRF{#x1E}55365, a low-ESR option, and built-in fuses for high reliability and protection against short circuits in critical applications.

T86series devices feature an internal fusing mechanism that activates at + 25°C for 0.1 s with a 5 A minimum applied current. In the event of a failure due to excessive current flow, this fusing prevents damage to circuit components in high-reliability avionics and military applications, such as radar, missiles, and other weapons systems.

The option of low ESR values, which extend down to 0.25Ω at + 25°C and 100 kHz, allows for more efficient filtering in applications requiring maximum reliability, such as safety-critical industrial applications, medical instrumentation, and diagnostic, high-end computing and data storage. The capacitors’ high ripple current handling capability ensures stable output voltages.

Offered in the C, D, E molded case sizes, the devices released today, part of Vishay’s Tantamount® tantalum capacitor family, have a capacitance range of 0.47 µF to 470 µF and voltage range from 4 V to 50 V. Their extended capacitance/voltage values— coupled with reliability, surge current, and ESR options— make theT86tantalum capacitors a flexible solution for a wide variety of application and performance requirements.

Vishay Releases New Series of Mini Lug NTC Thermistors With Industry’s Smallest Lug Mounting Space of 65mm²/ 0.1 in²

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— March 10, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the release of a new series of Mini Lug negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors with the industry’s smallest mounting space of 65 mm² / 0.1 in², and shortest response time of< 4 s to provide fast and accurate measurements over a wide temperature range from− 40°C to + 125 °C.

In addition to their small diameter, theNTCALUG03thermistors feature a tiny 5.5 mm ring tongue that can be mounted with M2 screws or American studs #1 to 2. These small dimensions, when combined with the devices’ silver plated nickel conductor, result in a low thermal gradient of< 5% ofΔT for accurate surface temperature measurement in space-limited applications. The devices are optimized for housing, heat-sink, power electronics, and pipe and conductor thermal management in test and measurement equipment, appliances, and industrial equipment.

The thermistors released today offer designers a choice of electrical resistance values at + 25°C (R25) to meet the self heating, voltage output, or noise suppression needs of their application. TheNTCALUG03devices feature R25of 10 kΩ, 12 kΩ, or 47 kΩ, with tolerances of± 2 % and ± 3 %. The thermistors are available with an optional 1.5 mm pitch ZHR-2 connector, and offer customizable lead lengths and screw sizes, like M3 / American stud #3 to 4. New 100 V Vishay Siliconix N-Channel TrenchFET® Power MOSFETs Featuring New ThunderFET® Technology Offer Lowest On-Resistance at 4.5 V VGSRating in SO-8 and PowerPAK® SO-8 Packages

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— Feb. 24, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today released two new 100 V n-channel TrenchFET® power MOSFETs with on-resistance ratings down to 4.5 V VGSin SO-8 and PowerPAK® SO-8 packages. Utilizing Vishay’s new ThunderFET® technology, theSiR870DPandSi4190DYoffer the lowest values of on-resistance in the industry for 100 V MOSFETs with 4.5 V ratings. In addition the product of on-resistance and gate charge— a key figure of merit (FOM) for MOSFETs in DC/DC converter applications— is also best in class.

TheSiR870DP’s low on-resistance of 7.8 mΩ at 4.5 V is the industry’s lowest. This MOSFET also offers a very low on-resistance of 6 mΩ at 10 V. For designers, the device’s lower on-resistance translates into lower conduction losses and reduced power consumption for energy-saving green solutions.

With its industry-low 208 mΩ-nC FOM at 4.5 V, theSiR870DPcombines low conduction and switching losses for higher frequency and switching applications. By utilizing 5 V rated ICs, gate driver losses can be reduced and the overall design simplified by eliminating the need for a separate 12 V power rail.
