Vishay Releases New Series of Mini Lug NTC Thermistors With Industry’s Smallest Lug Mounting Space of 65mm²/ 0.1 in²

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA— March 10, 2011— Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the release of a new series of Mini Lug negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors with the industry’s smallest mounting space of 65 mm² / 0.1 in², and shortest response time of< 4 s to provide fast and accurate measurements over a wide temperature range from− 40°C to + 125 °C.

In addition to their small diameter, theNTCALUG03thermistors feature a tiny 5.5 mm ring tongue that can be mounted with M2 screws or American studs #1 to 2. These small dimensions, when combined with the devices’ silver plated nickel conductor, result in a low thermal gradient of< 5% ofΔT for accurate surface temperature measurement in space-limited applications. The devices are optimized for housing, heat-sink, power electronics, and pipe and conductor thermal management in test and measurement equipment, appliances, and industrial equipment.

The thermistors released today offer designers a choice of electrical resistance values at + 25°C (R₂₅) to meet the self heating, voltage output, or noise suppression needs of their application. TheNTCALUG03devices feature R₂₅of 10 kΩ, 12 kΩ, or 47 kΩ, with tolerances of± 2 % and ± 3 %. The thermistors are available with an optional 1.5 mm pitch ZHR-2 connector, and offer customizable lead lengths and screw sizes, like M3 / American stud #3 to 4. TheNTCALUG03series is compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC.
